Aurora patients drive out of town for care, and search is where you lose them
Local search for dental offices, physiotherapy and chiropractic clinics, optometrists and family practices in Aurora. We build the practitioner and coverage pages patients read before booking, keep every line inside the college advertising rules, rebuild the Google Business Profile, and report monthly on booked appointments.

Aurora clinics are squeezed by two bigger markets
Dental and physiotherapy demand here is real, the towns on either side search harder for both, and the booking itself runs on insurance.
Ahrefs puts dentist aurora at 200 searches a month and physiotherapy aurora at 200 searches a month, then a long tail underneath: family doctor aurora at 80 searches a month, orthodontist aurora at 40 searches a month, chiropractor aurora at 30 searches a month, optometrist aurora at 30 searches a month, massage therapy aurora at 20 searches a month and veterinarian aurora at 20 searches a month. Two entry searches carry the volume and everything else is a category with a handful of clinics fighting over a map that only shows three of them.
Now the uncomfortable part. Ahrefs puts physiotherapy richmond hill at 350 searches a month and dentist newmarket at 300 searches a month, both well ahead of the Aurora versions, with dentist richmond hill at 100 searches a month on top of that. Some of that is simply more people. The rest is Aurora habit. Families drive north to Newmarket because Southlake and its follow up appointments are there, and south to Richmond Hill for specialists and later hours. A clinic with no real Aurora page loses its own town to those practices, and a clinic with only an Aurora page never appears in the larger searches next door.
Dentistry and physiotherapy are almost never panic purchases, which changes everything about the plan. The booking follows a benefit year. December brings the patients whose coverage is about to expire, January brings the reset, a new job brings a new plan, and a school break brings the orthodontic consult a parent has been putting off. So the pages that actually produce appointments are the unglamorous ones: who you bill directly, what a new patient exam or first assessment costs, how long the wait for an opening is, and whether anybody works an evening or a Saturday.
Aurora clinics sit along Yonge Street, down Wellington Street East, and around the Stronach Aurora Recreation Complex, which is where a good share of the physiotherapy and sports injury work comes from. The colleges that regulate these professions restrict testimonials, before and after claims and superlatives, so the trust layer has to be built from named practitioners, checkable credentials, plain descriptions of what a visit involves and reviews patients leave on their own. We write marketing copy rather than clinical content, a practitioner reviews anything clinical before it is published, and nothing we write offers medical advice.
Clinic types we build pages for
Neighbourhoods and towns we build pages for
Dashed pills are neighbouring towns usually worth their own page. Richmond Hill and Newmarket both out-search Aurora on most trades.
What the searches look like
Real searches from Ahrefs, Canada, monthly. The full list comes from Search Console and keyword research in the first month.
What Aurora clinic owners tell us on the first call
Six things we hear from dental offices, physio clinics and family practices along Yonge Street and Wellington Street East.
“Half the families on our own street drive up to Newmarket for the dentist and we are right here.”
The fix. You cannot stop the drive, but you can win the search that happens first. Ahrefs puts dentist newmarket at 300 searches a month against dentist aurora at 200 searches a month, so the bigger pool is north and the nearer one is yours to lose. We rebuild the map listing, then write an Aurora page that names Bayview Wellington, Regency Acres and Aurora Highlands, says where to park, and answers whether you are taking new patients.
“Our front desk explains coverage and direct billing all day and the website says nothing about either.”
The fix. Those calls are search demand being answered one at a time. A coverage page fixes it: which insurers you bill directly, what OHIP pays for at your clinic and what it does not, what a new patient exam or a first assessment costs, and what somebody should bring. It sits one click from every treatment page and from the profile, so the patient who already has their answer books instead of phoning to ask.
“Somebody advised us to post before and after photos and patient testimonials to bring in implant work.”
The fix. That advice walks straight into the college advertising rules, so we do not write testimonials, outcome claims or superlatives for a clinic. What takes their place works harder anyway. Named practitioners with registration and credentials on the page, a plain walk through of what the appointment involves, fees stated where the rules allow it, and reviews patients wrote themselves. A practitioner reads anything clinical before it publishes, and that review is logged.
“Our roster is full and the phone still rings all day with people looking for a family doctor.”
The fix. Then the website is quietly wasting everybody's time. Ahrefs puts family doctor aurora at 80 searches a month and the page has to meet that honestly: say plainly whether the practice is open to new patients, how a waitlist works if there is one, when it is reviewed, and where else somebody can turn. Saying no clearly costs you nothing and earns the call back when a space does open.
“People type our physiotherapist's name into Google and end up on a directory page we do not control.”
The fix. Then a search you already earned is landing on somebody else's website. Each practitioner gets a page of their own: registration, education, languages, the conditions they focus on, a real photograph, and structured data so Google reads the page as a person rather than a paragraph. Name searches then land on your site, and those pages also carry the named author signal that Google looks for on health content.
“Our Google reviews are decent but the rating sites have old pages we never set up.”
The fix. Those pages exist whether you manage them or not, and an Aurora patient comparing two clinics reads them next to yours. We claim what can be claimed, correct the address, phone and registered specialties so they match the site and the profile, watch for new reviews, and draft a reply where a platform allows one without confirming that anybody was a patient. Google stays the one that moves the map.
The clinic stack we build in Aurora
Nine pieces, all of them on the profile and site the clinic owns, every one held to health content standards.
Google Business Profile
The health category that matches the practice, insurance and accessibility attributes, hours the front desk actually keeps, a full service list, monthly photos, and replies that confirm nothing about a patient.
Practitioner pages
One page per dentist, physiotherapist, chiropractor or physician: registration, education, languages, focus areas, a real photograph, and Physician or Dentist structured data so a name search lands on your site.
Coverage and fees page
Who you bill directly, what OHIP covers at the clinic and what it does not, new patient exam and first assessment costs, and what to bring. The page the front desk currently repeats by phone.
Treatment pages
One page for each treatment you want more of: what the appointment involves, how long it takes, who performs it, and the fee where the rules let you state it. Read by a practitioner first.
Aurora catchment pages
Pages naming Bayview Wellington, Regency Acres, Aurora Highlands and the newer streets north of St John's Sideroad, with the drive, the parking and the transit a family actually uses.
Neighbouring town pages
One page for each town the clinic genuinely draws from, because the Richmond Hill and Newmarket versions of these searches are larger than the Aurora ones and somebody is already answering them.
Review flow
A text or email after the appointment with a direct link, wording that never asks a patient to describe treatment, replies that thank without confirming a visit, and duplicate listings closed.
Health directory listings
Name, address, phone and registered specialties matched across the rating sites, the college directories and the Aurora Chamber of Commerce. Mentions are earned, and we do not buy links.
Health schema markup
Clinic or dental practice data for the business, Physician markup on each practitioner page, and question markup on the coverage page, so addresses, hours, people and specialties are machine readable.

Sequence, not a promise. What actually gets built first comes out of the first-month audit of your site, your Business Profile and the businesses already ranking in Aurora.
Numbers from businesses like yours, not from a slide deck.
Every figure below is pulled from Ahrefs, Google Search Console or Local Falcon and dated. Read them, then ask to see the accounts.
The Fitzroy Rentals
A Toronto dress rental boutique that now ranks across Canada, with a city collection page published ahead of every pop-up so the page is indexed before the doors open.
Ahrefs figures are third-party estimates. Search Console and Business Profile numbers come from each client's own Google account. Local Falcon scans the map pack from a grid of points around the business.
Four steps from inquiry to the phone ringing.
No slide deck, no twelve-month contract. A one-page scope, a verified backup, then the cleanup and the build, reported every month in five parts.
Every week, every account
Articles publish Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m., each with a matching Google Business Profile post.

We read it properly.
Your website, your Google Business Profile and the businesses already ranking in Aurora, Richmond Hill and Newmarket, before we reply. If we are not the right fit for your market or your stage, we say so and point you somewhere better.
A 30-minute fit call.
What is costing you calls today, what we would fix first, what we would build after that, and what it costs. Straight numbers, no slide deck.
A one-page scope, then access and a backup.
What we fix, what we build, what we report each month, and the monthly figure. Website admin, Google Business Profile, Search Console and analytics access, then a backup taken and verified before anything is touched.
Cleanup, build, report.
The site stops leaking calls first. Then the service and town pages, the profile rhythm and the schema. Every month: baseline, work completed, what moved in search, what it did for the business, next action.
Asked on most fit calls.
If yours is not here, the direct line is (647) 717-7785, and the answer comes from the person who would do the work. You might also want to read how we work.
Why do Aurora clinics lose patients to Newmarket and Richmond Hill?
Partly population and partly habit. Ahrefs puts physiotherapy richmond hill at 350 searches a month and dentist newmarket at 300 searches a month, against 200 searches a month for each of those categories in Aurora. Southlake sits in Newmarket, so follow up care pulls people north, and Richmond Hill holds more specialists and later hours. The answer is not to chase both towns with one page. Hold the Aurora searches properly first, then add a page for the neighbouring town you genuinely serve, written for the drive rather than pretending you are around the corner.
What can a clinic website actually say under the college advertising rules?
Plenty, as long as it is not a testimonial, a before and after claim or a superlative. Registration and credentials, the services you provide, what happens during a visit, how long it takes, who performs it, fees where the rules permit stating them, languages spoken and accessibility details are all fair game. That material converts better than a testimonial anyway, because it answers what the patient was actually unsure about. We write the marketing copy, a practitioner reviews anything clinical, and the clinic has the final word on every page.
Do reviews still matter if we cannot ask patients about their treatment?
They matter more than almost anything else in the map, and you can gather them without going near the treatment. The request goes out after the appointment and invites a comment on booking, waiting time, the front desk and whether things were explained clearly. Replies thank the writer and confirm nothing, including whether the person attended. Recency counts, so a steady trickle beats a burst, and we never write a review or buy one. A stale wall of praise from years ago reads worse than a handful of recent ones.
Nobody books a dentist in a panic. How does that change the plan?
It moves the work away from urgency and onto paperwork and timing. A cleaning, an assessment or a consult gets booked when a benefit year is about to expire in December, when coverage resets in January, when a new job brings a new plan, or when school is out. So the coverage and fees page comes early, appointment availability and evening or Saturday hours go where they can be seen, and articles publish ahead of each of those waves rather than during them. The Aurora patient is comparing two clinics on paperwork, not sprinting to the nearest one.
Should every practitioner at an Aurora clinic have their own page?
Once the clinic has more than one practitioner, yes. A patient who hears a name from a neighbour in Hills of St Andrew searches that name, not the clinic, and a shared team page with a paragraph each will not rank for it. A page per practitioner carries registration, education, languages, focus areas, a photograph and structured data, so the name search lands on your site. Those pages also give Google the named, credentialled author it wants to see behind health content, which helps every treatment page on the site.
What does clinic SEO cost, and what happens in month one?
The engagement is $2,500 a month to begin with, billed month to month, with no setup fee and nothing to cancel out of. We read the site, the profile and the clinics ranking around Aurora before quoting, then there is a 30 minute fit call and a one page scope. No change happens before admin access and a verified backup are in place. Timing gets one answer and no promises: Google Business Profile work can move within weeks, and on the businesses in our case studies the first movement in search showed inside the first 90 days, and the compounding came in months four to twelve.
Every trade and service, one page each.
