Search work that puts Aurora businesses in front of Aurora buyers

Keyo is a Toronto SEO agency with one senior strategist doing the work and a short client list. We read your site, your Google Business Profile and whoever is already ranking in Aurora, fix what is broken, then build the pages Aurora and Newmarket customers actually type.

Problems Aurora owners bring us

Six things we hear on Aurora fit calls

These come up whether the business sits in Aurora Village, out in Aurora Estates or on Industrial Parkway South.

“Every page on our site says Aurora and half our trucks are in Newmarket and Richmond Hill by noon.”

The fix. Then the Newmarket and Richmond Hill searches go to businesses that did build a page. The volume is there to justify it, since plumber newmarket at 350 searches a month and plumber richmond hill at 400 searches a month are both larger than the Aurora term. We build one page per town the demand supports, each carrying something true about that town, because near identical town pages get the whole set ignored.

“A family friend built our site years ago and nobody here can edit a single line of it.”

The fix. That is a cleanup job before it is a search job. We take administrator access, make a verified backup, then run a rendered crawl of every URL so we know what is actually published. Broken links, redirect chains and duplicate titles get corrected first. If the platform cannot be edited by you, we say so early and scope a rebuild on its own rather than pour content into something nobody can maintain.

“The calls we get are price shoppers, not the renovation work we actually want to be doing.”

The fix. Usually that is a page problem. A single services page has to rank for everything, so it ranks for the cheapest thing. Split it and the intent sorts itself out, because home renovation aurora at 300 searches a month, basement renovation aurora at 200 searches a month and kitchen renovation aurora at 100 searches a month are three different buyers with three different budgets, and each deserves a page with real Aurora jobs on it.

“We moved from a unit near Yonge and Wellington out to Industrial Parkway South and the old address keeps coming back.”

The fix. Old addresses return because they still sit in the aggregators that feed the smaller directories. We audit the record first, settle on one canonical name, address and phone, then correct Google Business Profile, Apple Business Connect, Bing Places and the platforms that copy from them. The duplicate listing for the old unit gets resolved instead of left running beside the new one, and the record is rechecked quarterly.

“Two shops that opened after us sit above us in the map pack and I cannot work out why.”

The fix. Map pack position changes with where the searcher is standing, so one ranking check tells you almost nothing. We scan a grid across the town and watch what happens between Bayview Northeast, the Hills of St Andrew and Bloomington Road. Then we work the inputs that actually move it: categories, the services list, a weekly post, recent photos from Aurora jobs, and a reply on every review that arrives.

“Our last agency wrote blog posts about topics no person in Aurora has ever searched for.”

The fix. Articles earn their keep when they answer a search somebody is typing or a question an Aurora customer asks on the phone. We take topics from the demand data and from your own quote calls, publish Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m., and put a matching Business Profile post beside each one. Anything that does not get indexed gets resubmitted the same week.

What we actually optimise

Nine things that get worked every month

The same nine for a contractor in Aurora Highlands and a clinic on Wellington Street East, weighted by what the business needs.

Business Profile

Primary and secondary categories, service area, services and description written properly, then run weekly with posts, photos from Aurora jobs, review requests and replies, and the questions section watched.

Service pages

One page for each service you want to be called about, written the way Aurora customers type it, with the questions they ask on the phone answered on the page.

Town pages

A page for Aurora, Newmarket, Richmond Hill, King City and the towns the demand supports, each built on something true about that town instead of a swapped name.

Technical repair

A rendered crawl of every URL, then broken links, redirect chains, duplicate titles and slow templates corrected, and Search Console coverage alerts cleared rather than left to pile up.

Schema and AI

LocalBusiness, Service, FAQ and Breadcrumb markup written and validated, plus a monthly look at how the business gets described when AI assistants answer questions about Aurora trades.

Citation cleanup

The record corrected before anything is added, one canonical name, address and phone across the aggregators and the trade directories that matter, duplicates resolved, rechecked every quarter.

Publishing rhythm

Articles Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 10 a.m., each with a matching Business Profile post, written the month before they go out rather than the night before.

Conversion tracking

GA4 and Tag Manager wired so calls, form submissions and quote requests count as conversions, because a report about sessions tells an Aurora owner nothing useful.

The monthly report

The baseline, the work completed, what moved in search, what that did for the business, and the next action. One page a month, with a strategy review every 90 days.

Recommended first 90 days

How the first three months run here

Sequence matters more than effort here, and this is the order we use once the site, the profile and the Aurora competitors have been read.

Month one

Access and repair

  • Administrator access and verified backup
  • Rendered crawl and Search Console review
  • Business Profile corrected and posting weekly
  • Citation audit and one canonical record
  • Baseline numbers logged for calls and forms
Month two

Service pages

  • One page per service published
  • Titles, headings and schema written
  • Internal links pushed from the hub
  • Photos from Aurora jobs added to pages
  • First report and the next priorities
Month three

Towns and cadence

  • Newmarket and Richmond Hill pages built
  • Articles running three times each week
  • Review requests set up and monitored
  • Call and form tracking confirmed
  • Ninety day review and next scope

Sequence, not a promise. What actually gets built first comes out of the first-month audit of your site, your Business Profile and the businesses already ranking in Aurora.

Built for the trades

Built for Aurora owners who are on the tools all day.

Plumbers, roofers, electricians, HVAC techs, landscapers, contractors: people running a truck up and down Yonge Street between Aurora, Richmond Hill and Newmarket, with no time to babysit marketing. You text from the job site. Keyo handles the search side. Each trade has its own Aurora page below.

PlumbersDrain calls, water heaters, emergency work: ranked where people search when the basement floods.

RoofersStorm damage, replacements, insurance work: found first when the shingles come off.

ElectriciansPanel upgrades, EV chargers, service calls: showing up for the searches that book real jobs.

ContractorsBasements, additions, full renos: the projects that pay, from the searches that lead to them.

HVACNo-heat calls, AC installs, maintenance plans: ranked before the first cold snap.

LandscapersInterlock, sod, seasonal cleanups: booked for the season before the snow melts.

Text a photo from today's job. It becomes a Google Business Profile post and part of your photo portfolio. Text "don't post this" and it stays private. Real client numbers come out on the fit call, not on a web page.

Proof before promises

Numbers from businesses like yours, not from a slide deck.

Every figure below is pulled from Ahrefs, Google Search Console or Local Falcon and dated. Read them, then ask to see the accounts.

GTA electrical contractor

Kolji Bros Electrical

An electrical contractor with no website to speak of in November 2025. Keyo built the site, then service pages for panels, EV chargers and rewiring across twenty GTA cities on one slug pattern.

Also in the case studies: Peace of Mind Exteriors. An Oakville roofing company with a 240-page site that Google was ranking on page five. Keyo rebuilt what was underneath it, then built one page per service and city across the Golden Horseshoe. Read the case study

What we fix before we build

First we find the holes. Then we fill them.

Most of what is costing you calls is already on your site. We audit what exists before we add anything, and we verify a restorable backup before we touch a thing.

Broken links and 4xx errorsDead pages and dead ends, found by a rendered crawl, fixed and rechecked with a second crawl.
Missing or duplicate H1s and metadataEvery page gets one title, one H1 and one job. No two pages competing for the same search.
Redirect chains and indexing alertsCanonical, redirect and coverage alerts in Search Console resolved, not left sitting in the inbox.
Orphaned pagesPages with zero internal links get linked into the site or retired with a redirect.
Pages that are no longer trueArticles describing services you stopped offering are corrected or removed before they generate the wrong calls.
Backups, plugins, DNS and emailBackups that quietly stopped running, overlapping plugins, and the DNS and email records that decide whether your quotes land in inboxes.
How the work moves

Four steps from inquiry to the phone ringing.

No slide deck, no twelve-month contract. A one-page scope, a verified backup, then the cleanup and the build, reported every month in five parts.

01Week one

We read it properly.

Your website, your Google Business Profile and the businesses already ranking in Aurora, Richmond Hill and Newmarket, before we reply. If we are not the right fit for your market or your stage, we say so and point you somewhere better.

02Week one

A 30-minute fit call.

What is costing you calls today, what we would fix first, what we would build after that, and what it costs. Straight numbers, no slide deck.

03Week two

A one-page scope, then access and a backup.

What we fix, what we build, what we report each month, and the monthly figure. Website admin, Google Business Profile, Search Console and analytics access, then a backup taken and verified before anything is touched.

04Month one on

Cleanup, build, report.

The site stops leaking calls first. Then the service and town pages, the profile rhythm and the schema. Every month: baseline, work completed, what moved in search, what it did for the business, next action.

Questions from Aurora owners

Asked on most fit calls.

If yours is not here, the direct line is (647) 717-7785, and the answer comes from the person who would do the work. You might also want to read how we work.

Is Keyo based in Aurora?

No. Keyo works from 1423 Yonge Street in Toronto, the same road that runs up through Aurora Village. Aurora clients get what Toronto clients get: the direct line answered for calls and texts through the day, one five part report a month, and a strategy review every 90 days. Reading, building and reporting do not need an office in town. Kolji Bros Electrical is a York Region client run exactly this way. When an engagement includes photo or video, that day happens on site in Aurora.

What does local SEO cost in Aurora?

Engagements start at $2,500 a month, month to month, and the real figure is written on a one page scope before any work begins. There are no setup fees and no long term contracts. Website design is scoped separately from $5,000 on Squarespace, Shopify or WordPress. Before quoting anything we read your site, your Google Business Profile and the Aurora businesses currently ranking for your services, then hold a thirty minute fit call. If the work is not worth the fee in your situation, we say that on the call.

How long before the phone rings more?

Google Business Profile work can move within weeks, so the profile is where an Aurora engagement starts. Across the businesses in our case studies the first movement in search showed inside the first 90 days, and the compounding came in months four to twelve. Nobody can promise a ranking by a date, and we will not pretend otherwise. What you get instead is a written ledger every month: what shipped, what Google indexed, what moved, and what it did for the business in calls and forms.

Which Aurora businesses are a fit?

Established service businesses with something that already sells and a market they want more of: trades working Regency Acres and Aurora Heights, clinics on Wellington Street East, showrooms on Industrial Parkway North, restaurants around Aurora Town Square, and firms quoting the estate lots in Aurora Estates. Keyo takes a handful of new engagements a year, so a first year startup, anyone shopping purely on price and anyone who wants a position promised by a date get pointed somewhere better, politely. The owner has to answer the phone.

Do you run Google Ads in Aurora?

No, and that is deliberate. Ads are the one channel we do not touch ourselves. When paid search is the right call for an Aurora business we introduce an ads partner we trust, and the pages we build are made to convert a click from either source. The reason is attention: doing search properly for a small number of clients is a full week of work, and running ad accounts beside it would weaken both. The partner runs the campaign. We stay responsible for where the click lands.

What do you need from me to start?

Administrator access to the website, manager access to the Google Business Profile, Search Console and analytics, a phone number somebody answers, and a yes or no inside a week on anything we escalate. After that it is roughly twenty minutes a month on the report and the occasional photo from an Aurora job site. Everything lives in your own accounts, so if we part ways the site, the pages, the profile and the content stay with you. We take a verified backup before anything is touched.

Selective partnerships, meaningful results

If the ambition is serious, let's talk.

We review every inquiry personally and accept only the partnerships where we believe we can create a meaningful advantage in Aurora, Newmarket and York Region.
